More Details about

Recombinant Peripheral benzodiazepine receptor (PBR) protein

Catalog#: 6360-025-01

Size: 25 μl

Description: Recombinant full length mouse peripheral benzodiazepine receptor (PBR) purified from E. coli.

Applications: Control for Western Blot analysis using the anti-PBR antibody.

Physical State: This purified protein is provided at 0.2 mg/ml in 20 mM Tris 7.8, 1 mM EDTA, 0.1% Sodium Lauryl Sarcosine.

Expected Size: The recombinant protein is a fusion protein with a molecular weight of 20.4 kDa. Please note that multimers of the proteins are commonly seen on gels and Western Blotting Detection. The native protein is a 18 kDa protein.

Storage: Store at -20°C in working aliquots in a manual defrost freezer to avoid repeated freeze-thaws.

To use as a Western blot control:
Use 1 μg of the recombinant PBR protein per lane (5μl). Dilute the protein with 1X loading buffer of choice, supplemented with 2 mM DTT. Heat denature the control protein for 5 minutes before loading.

Fig.1 Western Blot analysis of PBR where 5 μl of the recombinant PBR protein was loaded on a 12% SDSPAGE gel, transferred to a PVDF membrane and detected with a 1:1000 dilution of the anti-PBR antibody (cat# 6362-PC-100). Detection was performed with a peroxidase-conjugated secondary antibody to rabbit followed by chemiluminescence.
