Specificity

This product recognizes the regulatory subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase. PKA is involved in many different regulatory processes. The PKA holoenzyme consists of two regulatory and two catalytic subunits. Activation of PKA occurs when cAMP binds to the two regulatory subunits, resulting in the release of two active catalytic subunits. The regulatory subunits bind to A-kinase anchoring protein (AKAP), which in turn binds to either the cytoskeleton or the membrane of an organelle. Thus, the regulatory subunits are important for localising the enzyme complex.

This product does not inhibit holoenzyme formation, and does activate cAMP binding.

Storage/Stability

Store at +4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
If stored in this manner, this product is stable for 18 months after receipt.
