Host: Rabbit

Antibody Type: Polyclonal

Isotype: Rabbit IgG

Immunogen: Synthetic peptide mapping to the N-terminus adjacent to the cleavage site of human caspase-3

Accession#: P42574

Gene ID: 836

Appearance: Colorless liquid

Concentration: 0.2 mg/ml

Formulation: 500 µl antigen affinity purified rabbit anti-Active Caspase-3 antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.01% thimerosal.

Purification: Affinity purified

Species Reactivity: human, mouse, rat

Application: Western blot, Immunohistochemistry

Application & Usage: Western blotting (1:50 -1:500 dilutions) and Immunohistochemistry (1:10-1:20 dilutions). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody preferentially recognizes the p17 fragment of the active caspase-3 in samples from human, mouse, and rat origins

Storage Temp.: -20 °C

Shipping: gel pack

Background Descriptions: Caspase-3 has been extensively studied and implicated to play an important role in apoptosis. Active caspase-3 proteolytically cleaves and activates other caspases, as well as relevant targets in the cells (e.g., PARP). The affinity purified antibody recognizing the active forms of caspase-3 provides a new tool for identifying apoptotic cell populations in both tissue sections and cultured cells.

Handling: The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.

Usage: For Research Use Only! Not to be used in humans.
